Brazil Money Transfers – FAQs

Wondering how to send money to Brazil? We've got the smart, secure way to send your money overseas.

Can I send Aussie dollars to Brazil?

Yes. This is the preferable currency for transferring money to Brazil.

Can I send Brazilian Real?

Due to central government regulations in Brazil, OFX does not offer the Brazilian Real (BRL) as a transfer currency, so all currency transfers to Brazil must be in a foreign currency such as U.S. dollars.

Is there any limit on how much money I can send to Brazil?

No. OFX works well for both businesses and individuals.

Can I send money from a Brazilian bank account to the Australia?

Yes. If you live in Brazil, you’ll want to complete your registration with our Australian branch to send money to the U.S., but we cannot accept Brazilian real. We can only transfer foreign currencies, such as U.S. dollars out of Brazil. If you live in Australia, register here to send money to Brazil with your Australian bank account.

Does OFX transfer money to all Brazilian banks?

OFX can transfer funds to any bank in Brazil, including, but not limited to:

  • Banco Bradesco Financiamentos

  • Caixa Econômica Federal

  • HSBC

  • Banco PanAmericano
