MUFG Corporate Markets & OFX FAQs

Why do I need to register with OFX to receive my dividend payment?

MUFG Corporate Markets has partnered with OFX to provide international investors with a fast, secure, and cost-effective way to receive dividend payments in their local currency. You need to register so that OFX can verify your identity, the purpose for requiring OFX services and to transfer the funds to your chosen bank account.

What if I already have a personal OFX account?

You can still link your existing OFX account to your MUFG Investor Centre by following these steps:

  1. Log in to the MUFG Investor Centre using a Chrome browser (on a computer, not a phone or iPad).
  2. Go to ‘Payments and Tax’ > ‘Payment Instructions’
    Select your holding
  3. Change the default from ‘Australian Direct Credit’ to ‘Foreign Currency Payment’
  4. Accept the terms & conditions
  5. Log in with your OFX credentials to authorise the connection
  6. Add your local currency recipient bank details and confirm

I’m an estate executor – can I use OFX?

Yes, but your registration journey is different. Please:

  1. Register with OFX under the Trust entity type
  2. Once the registration is complete, OFX will request supporting documents, which typically include:
  • Proof of executor/administrator appointment (e.g. Will or Probate).
  • Valid ID for the executor or administrator.
  •  Shareholding or Dividend Statement under the name of the Estate
  1. After verification, OFX will issue dedicated AUD account details for receiving dividends.
  2. These new details should then be provided to MUFG Corporate Markets via their Investor Centre

I have already registered with OFX and I’m not receiving my dividends – what should I do?

Please check:

  • Please first confirm with OFX that your registration and account verification is complete by emailing support@ofx.com. If there are outstanding actions, OFX will let you know the next steps to follow.
  • If you have received OFX’s confirmation, reach out to MUFG Corporate Markets at support@cm.mpms.mufg.com and request your withheld payments to be issued via your existing OFX account.

Note: MUFG Corporate Markets send monthly batches of unpresented payments to OFX. It may therefore take up to a month for you to receive your outstanding dividends

My online identity verification failed – what should I do?

If your ID identity verification has failed, it’s usually due to an issue with the photo ID you submitted, the quality of the image, or the quality of the video. Onfido ID verification system uses facial recognition and document validation technology to meet regulatory requirements. Any inconsistency or unreadable detail can cause the verification to fail. Common reasons include expired documents, poor lighting or glare, cropped corners, or submitting photocopies or scanned documents instead of originals.

A few tips to ensure the process goes smoothly:

  • Please ensure you are taking photos with original documents, not photocopied or scanned copies.
  • Be aware of light reflections to avoid glare in photos.
  • Ensure your ID is not expired.
  • Any fingers on documents will cause obstructions.
  • If choosing the Passport option, please include the picture page that has the MRZ code on it. Make sure that all 4 corners are visible in the frame.
  • If choosing the Driver’s License option, please photograph both the front and back of the document.

If problems persist, please contact OFX for help via support@ofx.com.

Can I receive my dividend in Australian dollars?

No. The OFX payment option only supports payments in foreign currencies. If you prefer to receive your dividend in Australian dollars, you’ll need to update your payment instructions in the MUFG Investor Centre to use Australian Direct Credit and provide an Australian bank account.

  • If you’ve already been receiving dividends via OFX and want to switch back to AUD payments, you must also remove the connection between your OFX account and MUFG Corporate Markets. To do this:
  1. Log in to your OFX account at https://identity.ofx.com.
  2. Go to Account > Profile and Settings > Access Control.
  3. Find the connection labelled MUFG Corporate Markets and click Remove Access.
  4. Confirm the removal when prompted.

Once the connection has been removed, MUFG Corporate Markets will no longer issue payments via OFX. You can then update your payment method to Australian Direct Credit in the MUFG Investor Centre and ensure that a valid Australian bank account is listed.

For assistance, contact OFX at support@ofx.com.

Where do I find my SRN/HIN?

OFX does not manage SRN or HIN information. Please contact MUFG Corporate Markets at support@cm.mpms.mufg.com, or check your holding statements for this information.

I live in Japan. Can I register with OFX?

Unfortunately, OFX is unable to support registrations from Japan at this time due to regulatory restrictions.

I get an error saying “Payment type not available for this shareholder” or “Enter security code” when I try to add my AUD OFX bank details – what should I do?

If you see this message, it means that your payment instructions cannot be updated online in the MUFG Investor Centre. Instead, you’ll need to submit your AUD OFX bank details using the MUFG Direct Credit Form.

You can find the form here under ‘Request for Direct Credit of Payment’: https://www.mpms.mufg.com/en/for-individuals/au/shareholders/forms/

Once completed, please email the form to support@cm.mpms.mufg.com.

Nothing happens when I click “Complete OFX Registration/Login” – what’s wrong?

If nothing happens when you click the “Complete OFX Registration/Login” button in the MUFG Investor Centre (usually Step 5 or 6 of the linking process), it’s likely that your browser is blocking pop-ups. This button is supposed to open a secure OFX window so you can log in or complete your registration. If pop-ups are disabled, that window won’t open.

To fix this, please enable pop-ups for the MUFG Investor Centre:

For Chrome (Windows or Mac):

  • Click the lock icon next to the website URL
  • Select “Site settings”
  • Find “Pop-ups and redirects” and set it to Allow
  • Refresh the page and try again

For Safari (Mac):

  • Open Safari > Preferences > Websites
  • Click on Pop-up Windows
  • Find the MUFG Investor Centre site in the list and select “Allow” from the dropdown
  • Refresh the page and try again

We also recommend using Google Chrome for the best experience. If you’ve allowed pop-ups but the issue continues, try clearing your browser cache or switching to another device.
